MATTRESS FIRM or SOFT?

Mattress Firm or soft? This is what many customers ask when at Mattress Firm and many other Mattress Stores across the country. My answer is always the same. Do you prefer a firm Mattress? Or a soft Mattress?

The Mattress firmness is the comfort layer that you prefer. There is not a magic firmness chart that says you will not have back pain if your Mattress is this Firm. This is your comfort layer. Your support layer needs to be good to make sure you do not have back pain. The support layer will be good on all new mattresses starting out. This is the layer that breaks down over time and starts causing you problems. So whether your support layer is inner springs, latex, or memory foam, make sure you change your mattress out before the support layer wears out.

Some Mattress Buyers prefer Inner Spring Mattresses.  Inner Springs have been around forever and are not a bad choice when selecting your new sleep system.  Avoid the conversation with the sales associate about how many coils.  Coil Count is one of those items that is not all that important because different mattresses will have different guage wire when coiling the springs.  There are many different factors when figuring coils, my opinion is to pick one that is comfortable.

Do not get so hung up on the inner workings of a Mattress that you dont look at the most important thing, is it comfortable?  So, whether you look for soft, firm, or in between, make sure it is comfortable to you.
